Obituary

Dennis Brian Johansen, age 69, passed away on March 24, 2026. He was born on June 14, 1956, in Ogden, Utah, and was a longtime resident of St. George, Utah.

Dennis had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in nature throughout his life. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, water and snow skiing, and golfing. He also worked for a river rafting company, combining his love of adventure with his work and sharing that passion with others.

Dennis was married to Laurel Rudd in 1974, and though they later divorced, they shared a family together. In 1996, he married his sweetheart, Connie Larsen, and through that marriage gained a beloved bonus daughter and grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Joni and Rich Swanson of South Weber, Utah; Brian Johansen of St. George, Utah; and Kayla and Cameron West of Layton, Utah; as well as his stepdaughter, Tammy Larsen of Wyoming, and his brother Daniel (Janet) Johansen of St. George, Utah. Dennis also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, his parents, his daughter Melissa, and his beloved wife Connie.

Dennis will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his adventurous spirit, and the time he spent with family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Tonquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.

A visitation will be held on Monday. Prior to services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary, 288 West ST. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
