She lived in Wisconsin until her early teens when her family moved to Phoenix. Soon after moving there she met her future husband, Wayne. They dated for five years and were married in Phoenix on June 15, 1968. She attended Cortez High School and Grand Canyon College. She transferred to the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1968. She was an actress by heart, but always wanted to be a Pastor. She played in dinner theaters in Phoenix and Woodbridge, Virginia. Diane lived in Alice Springs, Australia with her husband for five years, where she acted, played and produced several plays. They had their first child in Australia. It wasn't until many years later, that the Lutheran church started ordaining women. Diane, still feeling the call to be a pastor, went back to college to receive a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University, VA in 1985 and a Master of Divinity from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA in 1993. Diane was then ordained at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Falls Church, Virginia. She served at Holy Cross, in Herndon, VA, Peace Lutheran in Waldorf, MD, Redeemer, in Pearisburg, VA, and Lutheran Memorial in Pierre, SD. Diane is survived by her husband, Wayne; and sons: Donald and Peter. She is greatly missed! Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on December 5, 2014 at New Promise Lutheran Church, 244 S.
