Obituary

St. George, Utah - Dixie Excell Clark ,50, passed away August 8, 2011 after battling Ovarian Cancer for ten years. She was born September 25, 1960 in Panguitch, Utah to Mr. and Mrs. Richard James Excell and LaRue Charlotte Thornton. She married Todd Paul Clark in St. George, Utah on February 11, 1989.

Dixie was truly a spirit of our Lord, her life was about service and helping others. During her 10 year long battle with cancer, she made it her mission to help those afflicted with cancer. She was more concerned about those around her than herself. She would always try to find time for them no matter how bad she felt. Dixie loved the outdoors more than anything. She was always looking for a good excuse to take the trailer to the mountains. Anytime there was a family reunion, which was always in the mountains, she was loaded and ready to go. Dixie loved everything about family. She spent all her time making sure her family was always taken care of, no matter how sick she may have been. Dixie was one of the strongest people I know. She battled cancer with dignity and the strength that only she had. Dixie was a true friend to so many people. It has shown over her short life here. There have been so many people who have come to her aid and ours. We will never be able to thank all those that have been there for our family and especially for Dixie. Our family thanks you all and Dixie thanks you for being such great friends and supporters. Dixie, myself and our kids want to say thanks to all of you that have come into our lives for it is you that have truly made this a great life for her and for us. We could have never fought this battle without you. Everyone that has been there for her, and for us, you are truly Angels sent to us from our Savior. God bless all that have come into our lives. We can never thank you enough.

Dixie is survived by her husband, Todd Clark; daughters: Brooke, Shaylee, Courtnee, and son Connor all of St. George, Utah; her father, Richard James Excell; step-mother, Jan Excell; mother, LaRue Charlotte Thornton; sisters: Shauna and Randy Dow, Corrine and Kay Engelstead, Tammy and Jimmy Johnson, and Stephanie Floyd; and father-in-law, Jay and Charlotte Clark.
