St George UT - Dixie Anderson Koroulis Koontz, 86, passed away peacefully at her home in St. George, Utah November 3, 2025.  Dixie was a delightful, happy and always upbeat person.  She was born on July 20, 1939, to Ervin and Florence Anderson in Heber City, Utah.  Dixie grew up in the beautiful Heber Valley and spent her early summers in the mountains at the family sawmill and later helped with the cattle and harvesting crops on the family farm.   She did not love putting up hay in the days before balers.  She was the oldest of five children whom she loved and helped throughout her life.  She loved her horses and her friends and was active in many high school extracurricular activities.  She was a talented cosmetologist who taught at a Bountiful Beauty College.

In 1969 she married George Koroulis.  She was his life coach and support at Bountiful Motors for 37 years until his passing in 2007.  She married Jerry Koontz and together they enjoyed traveling, golf and entertaining in St. George until his passing in 2024.

Dixie was a favorite aunt to her niece, Lindsay and her nephews Zak, Bart, Eric, Neal, Jon and Greg. They delighted in their time where she would entertain them at her home where they loved swimming in her indoor pool.  She would gather them around and teach them how to play poker.  Dixie would take them to Lagoon and the Country Club where she spoiled them.  How they loved their Aunt Dixie!

Dixie had many wonderful friends. Some were lifetime friendships that will endure forever. Her family thanks them for their service and kindness to Dixie.

Dixie is survived by her brothers: Clair (Mary Ann) Anderson and Jay (Carolyn) Anderson; and by many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Koroulis and Jerry Koontz; her sister, Eileen Warner; and her brother, Mark Anderson.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a viewing prior at 12:00 p.m., at the Metcalf Bonzo Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, St. George, Utah 84770.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, 12:00 p.m. at the Heber City Cemetery, 680 North 550 East, Heber City, Utah 84032
