Obituary

St Geroge – Our Beloved Son, Father, Brother, and Sweetheart Dolan Patrick McCaffery tragically passed away on June 14, 2023. Born November 13, 1988, homegrown to St. George, UT. He left this earth way before he was meant to and had many accomplishments and dreams cut short that he dearly wanted to fulfill.

He dearly loved the mother of his children and was always happiest to be surrounded by their love. Dolan was always content with life if he was in the company of his little ones and had his sweetheart by his side. No one had a bigger heart than the big guy and you didn't want to bump into him without him expecting it because it was like running head on into an oak tree. He had a very sculpted frame on him.

Dolan loved to do just about everything. He excelled at anything he put his mind to and was no dummy. He made up about 35 credits of required classes in one night of studying and aced the test the next day. It was always easy for him to figure things out. If he wasn't good at something he would practice until he was. He loved going to the gym, mountain biking, softball (a lot of home runs), football (undefeated in little league, with his dad as a coach of course 😊), basketball, but especially dirt bike riding. He worked endlessly with his son on his little electric bike to show him the proper techniques. He was so proud the way his son took to it, like father like son. Dolan's bike will be waiting for his son when the time is right. Probably needs to grow a couple more feet first, but it will be there waiting.

His son was precious to him, but no more than his little daughter. The spitting image of her mother, an absolute little princess. To see the three of them together, along with their mother would always turn people's heads. He was always so kind, thoughtful, and helpful every moment they were together. He and his love raised two of the most treasured people in my life.

Dolan's name was very unique. In Gaelic it means "Dark haired one."  Missed that one, came out blond! He was like Celtic warrior and very proud of his heritage. Everyone that heard that name knew whom they were talking about instantly. Hundreds of people loved him, but the few that didn't, feared him for the warrior he was. He also stuck up for his beliefs. Everyone believes that their opinion is the only way which is just not true. Dolan did not force his opinions upon others. This was something he had begun to learn many years ago and would just let things slide off his shoulders. Dolan was always kind and understanding towards other people.

In his spare time, he loved camping with his family. There was always an adventure to be had. At the drop of a hat, he would be on it. "Come on get ready, we outta here. We're burning daylight. Let's go have some fun!"  Dolan lived his life to the fullest, always. One of his passions was fishing with all his many family members. While growing up he also loved his many adventures with his Mom. They'd often go hiking, fishing, camping where they would sit around the campfire and have s'mores, and learned everything about what Mom's teach their sons. His favorite place for all these activities was Kolob where he was often accompanied by his Mom, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, his Pop and Brother. He cherished his family life.

Dolan was a fine metal craftsman taught by Pops and his brother and you couldn't tell his work from mine. He worked his tail off doing concrete as well. He loved to work hard and thought the harder the better. He would often work 60 hours a week in the 110-degree heat and say, "No big deal! This is what we do. We work our tail off, get some sleep, and do it all over again."

Dolan loved his music, and something would always be playing. He loved all kinds of music, but most recently he was into country which was his sweetheart's main genre. Working in the garage he would put on Tyler Childers and usually I would give him the thumbs up, "Good choice son. Better than that other stuff you used to listen to!"

There is no limit to the loving memories to be shared of this man, lover, father, and son. He will be missed immensely by all. Travel well my son. I know you will be watching over us till we reunite again.
