Obituary

St. George, UT - Our beloved and wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Friend, Don A. Larsen passed away on August 13, 2009 in St. George, Utah. Don was born on July 13, 1928 in Salina, Utah. He married Viola Simpson and was later divorced. He then married the love of his life Katheryn Webb Martin and they were married for almost 24 years. He graduated from North Sevier High School in Salina, Utah. He then went on and joined the Army and was proud to serve our country. Don worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for his entire life and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 3, he loved his co-workers and working in the constructions trade field. Almost every Wednesday you could count on the good ole Chicken Fries with lots of food friends and lots of laughs. Don had the best sense of humor up until the very minute he left this earth, he was making jokes with the doctor. Don was also a proud member of the Bloomington Lions Club. Don loved his wife and all his children so much, they meant everything to him. Having such great friends, going to coffee and laughing a lot kept Don such a unique person and he will be missed by so many. Don is survived by his wife Katheryn; children: Gayland (Debra) Larsen, Norma (Glen) Hunt, and Brenda (Kirk) Pendleton; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; step-children: Lisa (Michael) Keeman and Steven (Terry) Martin; and 8 step-grandchildren. Also survived by one brother, Ivan (Sheri) and one sister Betty Dumas. He was preceded in death by his son, Ron Don Larsen; daughter, Jennilee Larsen; his mother and father; brother, Elwood Larsen; and sister, Ava Larsen. A special thanks to Dr. LaRowe and his entire staff, to the entire Cardiac Unit and doctors and nurses at the Dixie Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery.
