Donald Wayne
Lowe
January 7, 1955 – April 20, 2026
Cedar City Cemetery
12:00 - 1:00 pm (Mountain time)
Donald Wayne Lowe, 71, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026 at his home in St. George, Utah, after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease and pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Don was born on January 7, 1955, in Mesa, Arizona, to his parents, Donald N. and Sylvia Dorine Brazell Lowe. He enjoyed a spirited and adventure-filled childhood alongside his siblings, Sharon Pearson, Debbie Jeanine Campbell, and Steven Douglas Lowe.
After high school he left the desert landscapes of Arizona to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. During this time, he met the love of his life, Jacqueline Selma Slack “Jacki”, who became his devoted partner in all things. He ended up earning a degree in electronic engineering technology.
Don lived a life defined by service and dedication. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Carolina, an experience that deeply shaped his faith and character. He also honorably served his country, beginning in the Army National Guard before transitioning to the Air Force Reserve. After a brief time in Biloxi, Mississippi, Don and Jacki moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1984, where shortly after they welcomed their two daughters, Ashlee Dawn and Karly Ann. When the girls were in elementary school they moved to Cedar City, UT and eventually settled for good in St. George, UT where he ran a successful plumbing company until he retired.
Known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and integrity, Don was a well-respected member of his community. He found great joy in the outdoors and had a lifelong passion for building and creating. Whether he was constructing his own airplane, restoring old cars, or spending time with fellow aviation enthusiasts through the EAA, he approached every project with enthusiasm and precision. Although he never got to finish his plane due to his Parkinson’s, his passion for his projects never ceased.
Above all, Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a man of quiet strength and unwavering character. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the example he set.
Don is preceded in death by his loving parents, Donald and Dorine; and brother, Steve. He is survived by his wife, Jacki; his daughters: Ashlee Bonham and Karly Chew; and grandchildren: Evelynne, Tustin, Boyd and Millysa.
