IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Richard
Werner
June 10, 1949 – August 5, 2024
Donald Richard Werner, born on June 10, 1949, passed away on August 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Don was born to loving parents in Lamar, Colorado, and was the second of six siblings, maintaining close relationships with them throughout his life.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Northern California and, upon his return, married Michelle Grange in 1971. A dedicated family man, Don cherished spending time with his children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters. His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, from the way he made time for family gatherings to his involvement in their lives and activities. Don's home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love, creating a strong and lasting bond among his family members.
Don took immense pride in his grandchildren, often speaking of their accomplishments and enjoying their company. Whether it was attending their school events, celebrating their milestones, or simply spending a quiet afternoon together, Don found joy in every moment he shared with them. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always ready with a listening ear and a kind word. His legacy of love and devotion to family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
From 1981 to 2005, Don owned and operated Morgan Termite and Pest Control, where he involved his entire family in the business. Together with his parents and siblings, they also ran a video store, fudge store, and an insect museum, educating the public and youth about insects. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his commitment to making these ventures a family affair, fostering teamwork and unity.
Don was a creative individual with many hobbies, including sculpting, painting, pottery, and Ham Radio operation. His artistic talents were a testament to his creative mind, and he enjoyed sharing his creations with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Werner; and his children: Noah Werner, Joshua Werner (Rashell), Jeremy Werner (Kerra), Jacob Werner, and Eli Werner. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and his siblings: Thom Werner, Larry Werner, Linda Sharp, and Wendy Barnhart. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Randy Werner; and his parents, Dick and Barbara Werner.
