Donna Lou Alldredge Jones, 65, died Tuesday August 31, 1999 from respiratory failure. She was the third of eight children, born to Irvin and Dorothy Alldredge on August 9, 1934.

She was born and educated in St. George. She attended Dixie College and worked at Dixie Hospital before marrying Elwin I. Jones on July 3, 1954 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Donna served faithfully in many church callings including: Relief Society President, Primary President, YW Camp Director, and Blazer Leader.

She spent most of her life rearing and nurturing her nine children and 25 grandchildren. She loved having her family near and opened her heart to everyone.

Among her many talents were: doll-making, dancing, quilting, cooking, and photography. She loved learning new things and became an accomplished seamstress and a licensed ham radio operator. She loved to hike and always wanted to hike over Pine Valley Mtn. She forced herself to do things she was afraid to do, to conquer her fears.

Donna is survived by her husband: Elwin; children: Lou Ella (Mike) Boothe, Anona (Bob) Pack, Diane (Kevin) Nuttall, Evan (Cheryl) Jones, Colleen Jones, Ellie Jones, Phil (Lydia) Jones, Paul (ShuFen) Jones, and Shane (Jeremee) Jones; 25 grandchildren; her mother, Dorothy; a brother, Clifford (Marilyn) Alldredge; sisters: Cleora (Ralph) Webb, Laverna (Dahl) Zohner, Marie (Neil) Biggs, Betty (Ken) Booth, and Fae (Tony) Roberts. She was preceded in death by her father, Irvin and her sister, Marietta.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Stake Center, 466 East Magnum (530 North). Visitations will be Friday from 6:00-7:-- p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd, and Saturday, one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary.
