IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Eileen
Nelson
October 20, 1921 – May 1, 2012
St. George, UT - Donna Eileen Nelson was born October 20, 1921, in Ogden, Utah to Edward John Watkins and Violet Spencer Watkins. She passed away May 1, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She was 90 years old.
Donna lived a full and happy life, loved by her friends and family. She was married to Wilford "Bill" Wilson Nelson on June 20, 1942 and shortly thereafter they were sealed in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City. Their first two children, Dennis and Craig, were born in Oakland, California. The family moved to San Leandro where their daughter Pamela was born. They lived there for several years and then moved to Walnut Creek, California where they lived for 50 years.
Donna and Bill traveled to many places and multiple times to the Hawaiian Islands.
She worked in the LDS Church in many positions including Relief Society President. She was remembered by her family for her many celebrations and gatherings around the backyard pool, or around their large oval table in their family room.
The last eight months of her life she lived in St. George, Utah after staying in a senior residence in Clayton, California for two years. She called her new residence "Home". She loved her new friends and the activities. She loved to go shopping with family members. She never missed a family occasion. The birds and squirrels she fed on her patio and her beautiful potted plants were a joy to her. Her family and friends were also. She was a true "lady" and will be missed and loved by many friends and family. We love you Nana!
Donna is survived by her three children: Dennis Wayne Nelson, Craig Lee Nelson, and Pamela Eileen Rundquist, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Brigham City Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
