St. George, Utah - Donna Jane Sweeney, 80, a resident of St. George, Utah for many years, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was born in Chisholm, Minnesota on August 26, 1943, to Donald Christian and Mary Jane Nuesse.

Donna married Richard Sweeney. She had three children: James Elliott, Mary Ann West, and Donald Elliott.

Donna retired from Hughes Aircraft and soon after she relocated to St. George, Utah. She enjoyed camping, traveling and visiting National Parks. In her spare time, she loved to decorate her home, craft and create scrapbooks.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sister, Patricia; and son James. She is survived by her son, Donald; daughter, Mary Ann; nephew Chester; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 11:30 am to 12:45pm at the mortuary. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery located at 650 East Tabernacle Street.
