Obituary

Donna Faye Williams Cox, 82, returned peacefully to the waiting arms of her Savior, her father and mother, as well as family members and friends who passed before her. She was born to John and Ethel Williams on February 26, 1930 in Thomas, Idaho. Her father passed away when she was 3 months old. Her mother soon married Harold Hawkes who helped to raise her and her two brothers, Vernon (deceased) and Johnny along with his children, Adrienne, Theresa, Leona, Harold Lewis, Louise (all who preceded her in death) and Blanche. Harold and Ethel added Darwin (deceased), Elsie (deceased), Sydney, Richard, Thomas, Connie and Patricia. After graduating from High School in Idaho, she moved to Provo to attend college. While working as a telephone operator, she met and married Verl Gren, Jr. They settled in Orem, Utah. (Later divorced). She later married Gordon Theurer and moved her family to Salt Lake City. (Later divorced) She then met and married Charles Louis Cox, with whom she spent 21 years in Salt Lake, Kanab and finally St. George, Utah. Charles preceded her in death in January 2008. They served 2 missions together; They were first called to the Ireland, Dublin mission where they served from April 1995 April 1997. They returned to their new home in Kanab, Utah where they lived for just over a year and were called to serve at the Spain Bilbao mission. They served there from September 1998 March 2000. Donna loved to quilt, sew, crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch and knit. She also loved to research genealogy and read. She looked forward to the next book title she would receive from her book club. She loved to travel and especially spend time with family and friends. She held many positions in her church; Relief Society President, Primary President as well as many teaching and visiting teaching assignments. Donna will be missed by her children: Karen Anglesey, Las Vegas; NV, Colleen (Marty) Oviatt, Riverton, UT; Alan (Terri) Gren, Washington, UT; Deanne Wolf (Junior Seivers), Kamas, UT; and Tiffany (Doug) McLaws, Manning, IA. Also by step children: Rita (Clive) Buchanon, Bonnie (Kevin) Howard, Teresa Hackford, David (Linda) Theurer, Martha (Maurice) Johnson, Tim (Karla) Cox, Elizabeth (Kerry) Winn and Andy (Lesa) Cox. She was proud to be a grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to many beautiful and talented children. And finally a beloved aunt, cousin, sister and sister in law. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bloomington LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 3519 Manzanita Road, St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Friday, prior to services, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow in Tonaquint Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
