Dorothy Ah Ching-Swann Haleck, age 89, passed away on December 14, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She was born on August 27, 1923 in Savalalo, Samoa to parents William Swann and Bertha Peniata. She married Otto Vincent Haleck, Sr. in Pago Pago, American Samoa on November 21, 1942.

Dorothy was raised in Samoa (previously known as Western Samoa) and attended school there until she moved to American Samoa. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dorothy was a hard working mother, entrepreneur of several businesses and was the VP of Haleck Enterprises, Inc.

Dorothy is survived by her six children: William, Lottie, Otto Vincent Jr., Ernest, David, Catherine, their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A viewing will be held prior to services at 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
