Obituary

Hurricane, Utah - Dorothy passed away peacefully on Friday May 24, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born on December 21, 1928 to Nathan Harold & Blanche Olivia (Nielson) Coe in Snowville, Utah. Dorothy's family moved to Boulder City, Nevada when she was 4 years old. There she grew up and graduated from the Boulder City High School. She married Winston G Stratton on May 2, 1947 in Boulder City, Nevada. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple. They lived in Boulder City for a while then moved to Hurricane, Utah where they lived for the rest of their lives. They enjoyed spending every summer at their cabin in Antimony, Utah.

Dorothy was tiny in stature but didn't let that get in her way. She had a spunky and feisty personality and could do about anything that she put her mind to do. She loved to garden, sew, crochet, read and collect cookbooks, make quilts and SHOP! She served in the LDS church in many positions throughout her life. She was a kind and generous person and loved to help people. But, her family was the most important thing to her. Dorothy's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Brian (Bernice) Stratton of Hurricane, Utah and Tracey (Lisa) Stratton of Hurricane, Utah; 15 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren; sisters: Zina (Bob) Alves and Celia (Earl) Keele; brother-in-law, Neil (Laurel) Stratton; and sister-in-laws: Naida Bess, Marlene (John) Johnson and Karen Stratton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Winston; parents, Nathan and Blanche; brothers: Harold, John, Victor & Nathan Coe; sister, Esther Pease; brother-in-law Glenn Stratton; and 1 great-grandchild, Gunner Bracken.
