Pine Valley, UT – Dorothy Diane Truman Beckstrom, 85, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born on September 2, 1936, in Cedar City, Utah, to loving parents Heber and Dorothy Snow Truman. Diane was the oldest daughter in the family of four girls and one brother, Douglas, who passed away as an infant. Diane's sisters LaRaine, Rosemary and Kay were her life-long friends. The Trumans raised their family in Enterprise, Utah. Diane loved growing up there and forever cherished the 'dear hearts and gentle people' of her hometown.

Diane married Spencer Snow Beckstrom on September 21, 1959, in the St George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed a healthy and happy life, full of family, friends, the gospel, needlepoint, traveling, Diet Coke, and the LA Dodgers. As throughout her life, she was full of grace and dignity as she fought her courageous battle with Parkinson's the last few years of her life. Spencer and Diane were married for almost 63 years at the time of her passing. Their loyalty, companionship, and care for each other through the years, particularly in the way Spencer cared for Diane in her declining years, will forever stand as an example to their children and grandchildren.

Diane and Spencer are the parents of 6 children: Jeffrey (Janny) Beckstrom of Pine Valley, Utah; Bradley (Julia) Beckstrom of Eagle, Idaho; Leslie Ann, who passed away as an infant; Linda (David) Eastwood of Salem, Utah; Lori (Brent) Murdock of Highland, Utah; and Lisa (James) Bullington of Highland, Utah. Diane and Spencer have 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. As we mourn the loss of our mother and grandmother, we are comforted to think of the reunion she has enjoyed with her sweet Leslie Ann.

Diane and Spencer raised their family in Southern California where they lived for 42 years; 35 of those years in the foothill city of Glendora. Diane's life's work was raising her children and running her busy and happy household. During these years, she also found a life-long love in the Los Angeles Dodgers, and she was an avid fan up until her passing; living to see her Dodgers win another World Series in 2020. Vin Scully's signature phrase 'It's time for Dodger Baseball' was music to her ears.

Diane and Spencer served two temple missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: one at the Los Angeles Temple and one at the Nauvoo Temple. They also served many years as temple workers in the St George Temple. Diane loved the temple and the peace and comfort that it brought to her life.

In 2005, Spencer and Diane moved from California and retired to their beautiful mountainside home that they loved so much in Pine Valley, Utah. Everywhere she went, Diane loved life and loved people. She loved her family, her friends, and her ward and branch members so much and was concerned for everyone's wellbeing. She made friends easily and if you were her friend, you were her friend for life. We are so grateful to her dear friends that have visited so regularly in these past years of her illness. They were a light in her life as her time on earth was coming to a close.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Pine Valley Chapel, 50 W. Main Street, Pine Valley, Utah. A visitation prior to the service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment in the Pine Valley, Utah cemetery.
