IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doyle Daniel
Poole
April 23, 1941 – March 12, 2023
Pleasant Grove, Utah –Doyle Daniel Poole was born April 23, 1941, in Seymour Missouri to Harley and Lola Turner Poole. He passed away of cancer on March 12, 2023, in Pleasant Grove Utah. He is the sixth of seven children and the baby brother of the family. After the death of his father, his mother moved the family to California where he spent much of his child and young adulthood.
Doyle loved sports, hunting, & traveling. While in high school he loved and played football. His eyesight however prevented him from taking his talents further and so he took up other valuable skills. He especially enjoyed the outdoors where he worked for a period of time in the Forest Service and bragged that he trained a couple of celebrities in the art of 'hunting'. He would later use those skills every single hunting season and share priceless family time with his family.
Doyle was an absolute jack of all trades. He held many jobs including: warehouseman, truck driver, security positions and of special interest (to the grandkids anyway) had the honor of working at Area 51! He retired from the Teamsters' union in 1995. In his spare time, he could fix or repair just about anything. The months before his death, he would visit thrift stores and find old sewing machines, fix them up and give them away to family and friends. He was rightly known as the handy man of his retirement community.
He married Lona Faulkner in June of 1979 and took on her family of 5 children and later 18 grandchildren! He was affectionately known as 'Grandpa Doyle'. Doyle & Lona traveled extensively taking advantage of their 'golden years' where they enjoyed countless cruise destinations and especially loved the Oregon coastline where they camped frequently and enjoyed the great outdoors.
Doyle is survived by his two sons (previous marriage), Danny & Loren and 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Janice, and a son Randy. We loved Doyle and will be forever grateful for all he brought to our family, most especially a great and lasting stability.
