St. George, UT - Earl V. Lee, 88, died on December 27, 2009. He was born May 25, 1921 in Soldier, Iowa to Magnus Lee and Edna Meadows Lee. He married Nita Hughey in Los Angeles, California on July 6, 1946. He was raised and schooled in Dennison, Iowa, then moved to California and lived in Los Angeles, Whittier and also Moreno Valley until 2001 when they moved to St. George, Utah after retiring as a meat cutter of 45 years from Albertson's. Earl enjoyed all sports especially golf and running. He traveled with his wife all across the United States and loved growing long stem roses for his bride of 53 years. Earl served in the US Marines in the South Pacific WWII; he was an active member of the LDS faith, served in the Los Angeles LDS Temple for 5 years, and also held callings in his church as a bishopric member, as executive secretary, and as a stake missionary. Earl is survived by his wife Nita H. Lee, sons; Vic A. Lee (Gaye C) and Michael V. Lee (Rhonda M) all of St. George, Utah. Grandchildren are Jennifer, Dana, Jamie, Richard, Cami, Kristy, Trina, David, Lindsay and Jeffrey. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. Visitations will be held on Sunday, January 3, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary.
