St. George, Utah - Earl J. Sheridan, 81, of St. George, Utah, passed away on October 21, 2023 surrounded by family.

Earl was born to Raymond and Ella (Schneider) Sheridan, on September 26, 1942, in West Brooklyn, Illinois.  He served in the US Air Force and met his wife, Huilin, while serving in Taiwan.  He graduated from Southern Illinois University and started his 25-year teaching career.  While teaching, he discovered his passion for coaching his children in youth sports.  At Thornwood High School, he coached baseball, softball, football, and basketball. He was an avid sports fan and loved rooting for his Chicago teams, the White Sox, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls.  In retirement, he discovered a passion for golf and after moving to St. George, he joined a local golf league, TMUP (T-eM-UP), where he met some great friends.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether it meant traveling back to Illinois or out to New Mexico or having them come stay with him in St. George.

Earl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Huilin and his three children, Teresa (Mike) Pelock, Thomas (Mary) Sheridan, and Trent (Amy) Sheridan.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan, Jacob, Grace, Ryan, Talia and Tegan, his brother Jerry (Charla) Sheridan and sisters Norma Sheridan and Joni Lawson.  He is preceded by his parents Raymond and Ella, brothers Bob, Neil, Ron, Kenny and Roger.

Earl's family will host a funeral service on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 pm.  The service will be at St. George Catholic Church in St. George, Utah with a reception to follow in Kuzy Hall at the church.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Earl's name.
