St. George, UT - Edna R. Jones, age 89, passed away on February 2, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born on September 27, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to James and Edna Sullivan. She attended local schools graduating from East High School. She met and soon married her only love, Loren "Bud" Jones. Edna and Bud made their home in Costa Mesa, California and raised their three children. Edna was a talented homemaker; home decorating, cooking and sewing made her home delightful.

Edna made a career as a school Food Service Manager in both Newport-Mesa and Irvine school districts and retired from the Irvine Unified School District; while Bud made his career working on yachts in Newport harbor. Edna was a founder of the Costa Mesa Girls Club and very active in the PTA and American Field Service.

After Bud passed away in 1979 and Edna retired, she moved to be close to her sisters in St. George, Utah. She enjoyed an active social life with her friends and family; especially with her "lunch bunch" friends.

Edna is survived by her children: Susan Bigler of St. George, UT, Douglas (Cathi) Jones of Costa Mesa, CA, and Rebecca (Chuck) Hannahan of Aliso Viejo, CA. Edna has 7 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Per her request, Edna will be put to rest in a private burial at sea and finally join her husband Bud forever.
