St. George Utah - Faye "Elaine" Clausen was born August 3, 1948 and passed away July 22, 2021 in her St. George, Utah home FIGHTING her battle with cancer.

Elaine was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, third child to Reese Myrlin and Faye DeVon Deveraux Madsen. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister Darlene Madsen and son-in-law Dondi Larsen.  She is survived by all her children: Annette Sokol Larsen, Reese (Sandra) Sokol, Walter Clausen and Jolene Clausen; and brothers: Myrlin (Diane) Madsen, Larry (Carol) Madsen and Jimmy (Becky) Madsen. She left behind six grandchildren and 3 great grandsons.

She graduated from Skyline High School and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. There she worked and retired from Clark County school district.  Moved back to Salt Lake and worked and retired from Utah Board of Education Division of Rehabilitation Services.  Sold her home and moved in with her daughter in St. George 2019.

Elaine loved gardening. She had three 4-foot-high garden beds made for her. She spent most of her time, traveling and visiting family. She enjoyed relaxing in any casino that treated her like family.

We would like to thank Sun Tree Home Health & Hospice for the loving care they extended to Elaine and the family.  The neighbors for helping and providing meals.
