St. George, Utah - Our loving mother, grandmother and friend, Eleanor Roper Harper Gifford, passed away on Nov. 14, 2011 at the age of 87.

Eleanor was born July 21,1924 in Columbia, Ut. She was the seventh of eight children born to Argyle and Sylva Roper. The family later moved to St.George where she met and married Kenneth Glen Harper in the St. George Temple. Together they had 10 children. They moved to Rosemead, Calif. to raise their children. It was there she received her nursing degree. Later, she moved back to Southern Utah, the place she always called home, where she lived until retirement. She made many lifelong friends, but her most charished times were with her children and grandchildren. She happily accepted a call to serve a LDS mission to Thailand and Washington DC. She then moved to Logan to live closer to family.

Eleanor was preceeded in death by Kenneth Glen Harper; sons Kyle and James; grandsons Dean and Keith; granddaughter Rachel; great granddaughter Joslyn; great grandsons Justin, Ian, amd Fisher.

Eleanor is survived by her sisters Mae Wilder of St. George and Beatrice Wulffenstein of Oklahoma. Also, 8 of her children: Luen Henderson of Logan, UT.; Karen Mulligan of Spanish Fork, UT.; Wayne (Robbyn) of St. George, UT.; Gary (Mikki) of West Valley, Ut.; Mariam (Michael) Harter of Logan, UT.; Alan (Rocio) of Twin Falls, ID.; Colleen (Mike) of Logan,UT.; Michael (Lori) of West Jordan, UT.; 29 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 23th at 1:00pm at Metcalf Mortuary 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.
