Obituary

St. George, UT - Elisabetta Benetti Biasi died March 23, 2013 of natural causes at her home in Saint George, Utah. She was born on April 25, 1921 in Vobarno, Brescia, Italy to Pio Carmelo Benetti and Angelica Baruzzi.

She was married to Bruno Biasi in 1934 in La Crescenta, California. She moved to Beryl, Utah in 1946 to buy 320 acres of sage brush and developed it into an alfalfa farm. She moved to Bunkerville, Nevada in 1958 where she raised her family and worked with her husband at the Biasi dairy. Most recently Elisa has been living with her son, David, in Saint George, Utah.

Elisa was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served for 10 years with her husband at the Saint George Temple as ordinance workers and most recently attended the temple daily for the past four years. Elisa was committed to genealogy work and searching out her Italian ancestors.

Elisa was an accomplished real estate investor and also became a licensed realtor. Elisa enjoyed many hobbies that included photography and growing plants & trees. She was an artist including painting oils and water colors. Elisa always has a garden and kept chickens. Elisa also spoke both Italian and Spanish.

Elisa was loved by all that knew her and for her strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

Elisa is survived by four of her five children: Gary Lee Biasi (Judy) of Beaver Dam, AZ, Richard John Biasi (Marian) of Parowan, UT, David William Biasi (Diane) of Saint George, UT and Gina Maria Barton (Mark) of Draper, UT. She is also survived by her brother Mario Benetti of Montrose, CA and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruno Biasi, who passed away in 2002, a son John Steven Biasi (Maria) who passed away in November, 2012, her parents Pio Benetti and Angelica Baruzzi, her sister Carmela Benetti (Natale) Valle of Pasadena, CA, brother Angelo Benetti (Thelma) of Grants Pass, OR and two grandsons, Gary Lee Biasi Jr. and Jordan Biasi.

Elisa had 28 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Stake Center, 200 West Brigham Road, Saint George, UT. A viewing will be from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior. Burial will be at the Bunkerville Cemetery, Bunkerville, NV at 2:00 p.m. (Nevada Time). Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
