St. George, UT - Elizabeth Woodbury Gregerson was born March 28, 1924, and died December 9, 2009, at 85 years of age. She was born and died in St. George, Utah, the eighth child of John Taylor Woodbury, Jr. and Nimzar Gagosian. Elizabeth married and divorced Dwayne G. Wood. She married Eugene Hanks Gregerson on September 25, 1947. Beth and Gene ran a 7-11 Store in Boulder City, NV, for over 18 years, and returned to St. George to retire in 1990. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; son, John Woodbury Gregerson; and daughter, JoWayne Whitney. She is survived by her son, Dr. Larry Earl Gregerson; and daughter, Charlene Gregerson Reid. Elizabeth was involved in church, family, community, and politics in both Boulder City and St. George. She played on sports teams until she was into her 40's. In the LDS Church, she held positions in all of the auxiliaries on both stake and ward levels. She served an honorable LDS proselyting mission to Tampa Bay, Florida with her spouse. She worked for different political campaigns, served in the Republican Womans Club, was President of the Dixie Reviewers Club, worked for the V.F.W., served on activities commitees for baseball and basketball and continually worked to make her home and community a better place. Elizabeth is survivied by 8 sisters and 2 brothers; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morningside LDS 1st Ward Chapel, 879 S. River Rd., St. George, Utah. Visitations will be held Friday, December 11th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel, prior to services.
