St. George, UT - Elizabeth Theresa Hoskins of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully June 26, 2010. Elizabeth was born May 9, 1924 in Manhattan to Ellen and Patrick Trainor, who gave her the nickname Betty . Betty enjoyed her first job as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone. In 1945, Betty married Joseph Capria. After his passing she was employed by Avon and later Ciba-Geigy in Suffern, New York. In 1978, Betty moved to California where she worked for Coldwell Banker until her retirement. Betty enjoyed dancing, bowling and her family. She met Fred Hoskins of Highland, California at a dance. In January 1990 they married. Besides her husband, Elizabeth is survived by her children: Dennis Capria (Maggy), Helen Kelly (John), George Brady (Mary), Jeanette Hughes (Jim), Joe Capria, Kathleen Sallender (Curt), Fred Hoskins (Diane), Diane Serka (Paul) and Patricia Hoskins, her sister Catherine McMahon, and brother-in-law Tom Hayes, sister-in-law Grace Caminada, twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a loving and giving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Aunt and will be deeply missed. Thanks for all the love and support from Dr. Paradela, and Mary Wallace of the St. George Catholic Church and the staff at Red Cliffs Regional. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers please send memorial donations to American Diabetes Association.
