Obituary

November 24, 1918 ~ November 20, 2011St. George, UT - Elnora East Farnsworth passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, four days short of her 93rd birthday. She was born in a humble home to Wallace and Francis East of Pomerene, Arizona. She was the third child and oldest daughter of nine children. She was taught to work hard and is known to be the hardest worker in the world. She had an endless capacity to give and give and give.

While attending Gila Junior College in Thatcher, Arizona, Elnora met her true love, Elmo, and a courtship ensued. She labored at the side of her husband, creating a home in many locations and through many ventures, which eventually brought them to Enterprise to farm potatoes and then to St. George in their retirement years.

Elnora has devoted her life to her family, church, and community. Making quilts, gardening, and cooking were her passions, the products mostly given away to neighbors and family. On entering her home, you would find her in the kitchen cooking up a dish for someone. Being a gracious host was one of Elnora's gifts and feeding others gave her joy. Her home was always a gathering place for family and friends.

She was a faithful and unwavering member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various callings as well as serving a mission with her husband in Spain and as a temple worker for many years. We, her posterity, are so grateful for her long, full life of service and faith and know she is happy to be able to be working hard and accomplishing something again.

Elnora was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo B.; her parents; son, Nathan; daughter Karen; brothers: Franklin, Acel and Harold; sisters: Elda and Jennabell; two son- in- laws; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. and is looking forward to her reunion with them.

She is survived by her son, Gary (LaRae) Farnsworth; son-in-law, Ferrol (Connie) Tait; daughters, Edith Day , Joan (Merrill) Fisher and Francine (Fred) Woods; sisters, Eileen, Ruby, and Donna; 28 grandchildren; 118 great grandchildren; and 39 great-great-grandchildren.
