Obituary

Our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister and Aunt, Elva Rae Bennett passed away from Cancer at the age of 72 on February 17, 2010, In St. George, Utah. She was born on January 15, 1938 in Wheatcroft, Kentucky to Jesse Stewart and Sammie Morrow Stewart. She moved to East Carbon in 1948, that is where she eventually met and married the love of her life, Guy Bennett. They were married on October 22, 1956. That same day they moved to Moab, Utah to start their amazing journey as husband and wife. She was a custodian for many years for the Grand County School District. After 22 years in Moab they moved to Ticaboo, Utah, Grand Junction, Colorado and eventually to Winnemucca, Nevada where they retired and soon moved to St. George, Utah in November of 1997. Elva's family was so excited about their arrival to St. George because now we could see them as often as we wanted to. Her family was so blessed to have this most loving, kind, compassionate & Humorous lady in their lives. She led her life by example that of a Christian, a hard worker, and she loved everyone she met. She is survived by her Husband Guy Bennett, St. George, Utah; two daughters: Nancy Bennett, (Doug Copley) Lompoc, California, Cindy Bennett Mathews (Matt) St. George,Utah. Her Daughter Fawn Bennett preceded her in death November 5th 2007. She has 2 grandson's: Jacob McCloughan (Tami), Brandon Mathews (Kim); one granddaughter: Meagan Snow (Shawn). Her most valuable gifts, 9 great grandchildren with another one on the way. Madison, Sammie, Abbie, Kaden and Kamry. Tyler Preceded her in death April 2007, Myles (Amanda), Mackenzie and Billie Grover. We will love you always and forever Granny. Elva is the oldest child of 15 she has one brother that preceded in in death. She loved and cherished each and everyone of her Family members. She was a mom to six of her brothers that adored her, she was loved and appreciated by all of her siblings. We will be gathering at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd.,on Monday February 22, 2010. at 1:00 PM. We will share our Memories of her for One hour. Her Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Mortuary. There will be no services at the Cemetery.
