Obituary

St. George, Utah - Elwin "Lee" Reynolds passed away June 24, 2012. Lee was born on December 5, 1935 in Rigby, Idaho to Elwin and Milla Lee Reynolds.

Lee was raised on a farm in Moore, Idaho where he attended school, at 18 he went to Ricks College, and at age 21 he served a mission for the LDS church in Arizona and Southern California. He met his sweetheart during that time as well. Following his mission, he served in the United States Army for two years.

Upon returning, he went to school at BYU where he majored in History. He married Bufaye Kirkland February 7, 1964 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Lee worked on the Atomic Energy Facilities before returning to College for his Masters Degree. Lee then became a high school teacher where he taught in Blanding, Utah. After teaching, he and his wife served a mission in Atlanta, Georgia. They then served a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois for 18 months. Waiting for their next mission call Lees wife passed away. He then moved to St. George, UT to be close to family.

Lee enjoyed wood working and chauffeuring his sister and neighbors to yard sales. Lee was known for his canes and bear carvings.

He is survived by his sisters: Anita Birch and Ann Stewart; and brother, Larry Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Carey LDS 1 st Ward Chapel, 20494 North Main Street, Carey, Idaho. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Carey City Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
