Erika Klementine Janson Pust, 96, passed away peacefully in St. George, Utah on May 7, 2026. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Klemens and Maria Janson on November 9, 1929.
In 1935, her parents built a home in Jericho, New York. On December 25, 1937, her brother, Herbert, was born; whom she cherished her entire life. As a teenager she loved the outdoors and loved to go ice skating with friends. She has always had a great love for animals, always having a dog or cat her entire life. After high school, she went to work for Long Island Power and Light as management. There she met Valentine Pust and they were married on September 25, 1955.
After they retired, they built a home in Peconic, New York and lived there until 2006 when they moved to St. George, Utah to join her brother, Herb and family. They never had any children of their own but enjoyed spending time with and loving their nieces and nephews as if they were their own children.
Erika is preceded in death by her parents; and her loving husband, Val Pust who passed away February 2012. She continued to live in her home in Bloomington with her cats until her passing. She is survived by her brother, Herb (Judy) Janson; as well has her nieces and nephews and their children.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. George Catholic Church, 259 West 200 North, St. George, Utah. Graveside services will follow at Tonaquint Cemetery located at 1777 South Dixie Drive.
