Magna / St. George, Utah - Our wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Erma Lou Brown, 86, has taken the next step on her journey guided by her loving husband, Archie. Erma Lou passed away November 8, 2012 in St. George, Utah. She will be missed and thought of daily by all. The heavens above will be brightened by her presence. Erma Lou and Archie Lee Brown were married December 3, 1945 in Glenwood, Utah and later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was born February 14, 1926 in Glenwood, Utah. She was the oldest of eight children and the only daughter with seven younger brothers born to Marlon McGregor Peterson and Viola Lucinda Staples.

Erma Lou was an avid gardener and homemaker. She had a talent for sewing and crocheting, along with baking and cooking. She also had a successful career as a cosmetologist for 45 years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Lee Brown, from Koosharem, Utah; her parents; and grandson, Jason Lee Brown. She is survived by her children: Lee R. (Sheila) Brown, Archie Lynn (Jann) Brown, Madalyn Brown-Knudson (Richard) and Kathleen (Richard) Hinton; 16 grandchildren; and 21½ great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morningside LDS 7 ^th Ward Chapel, 879 South River Road, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel.

Interment will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at11:30 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
