Jolliff Prettyman

St. George, Utah - Esther Louise Jolliff Prettyman, 68, passed away December 6, 2016 of causes due to cancer. She was born January 12, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Paul K. and Helen S. Jolliff. She married Ira "Mick" G. Henry and had two sons. They later divorced.
Esther then married Douglas G. Prettyman and they had a very good life. They lived in Salt Lake City for 25 years and made many good friends. They snowmobiled, motorcycled, boated and traveled all over the United States and saw a lot of this country. She loved cooking and baking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine and Daughters of the Nile. As a member of the Mini-Bike Pit Crew, she was involved in parades and fundraiser for Shiners Childrens Hospital. She was a licensed insurance agent for many years and office manager for an independent agency.
Esther really enjoyed working with people. She worked at the American Legion Auxiliary for many years as the Secretary to the State Secretary helping to organize State Conventions as well as District Meetings. After moving to St. George, she was very active with the Democrats of Southern Utah and the Democratic Party.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws. She is survived by her husband, Douglas; sons: Michael (Bonnie) Henry of Utah and Robert (Rebecca) Henry of Indiana; brothers: Harold Jolliff and Kenneth (Loretta) Jolliff, both of Indiana; and sister, Paula (David) Elsel of Michigan. She is also survived by three brothers-in-law and spouses; two sisters-in-law and spouses; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah.Metcalf Mortuary Chapel
