Obituary

Ferrel Naegle Paul, age 93, passed away on February 2, 2022, in Prescott, Arizona. She was born in Cedar City, Utah on February 22, 1928, to George Anderson Naegle and Gertrude Stanworth. Ferrel spent her early years in Cedar City and Parowan, UT along with her younger sister, Marilyn and brother, Thell. She loved all animals and the mountains and helped her friend herd sheep in the summers.

Ferrel attended high school at Las Vegas High. She attended B.Y.U. and received a B.A. in Education. After college graduation, she returned to Las Vegas, NV and worked as an elementary teacher. She met John Thomas Paul, Jr. and married on August 28, 1953.

Ferrel loved children and taught Kindergarten for almost 30 years. She took off some time after the birth of her only daughter, Cheryl, and worked part time until Cheryl was 5. Ferrel then resumed teaching Kindergarten full time, but Cheryl was not in her class, much to Cheryl's dismay.

When John and Ferrel retired from the Clark County school district, they moved to Saint George, UT and acquired their dream home on the golf course. They enjoyed socializing and golfing at the Bloomington Country Club. They also divided their time between traveling in their 5 th wheel and fishing, boating, and hiking, and spoiling their grandkids at the cabin. After the love of her life passed away in 2009, Ferrel joined the Assistance League of Southern Utah, which raises money to clothe local schoolchildren in need.

Ferrel is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Johnson; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Julianne; and her seven great-grandchildren: Caitlyn, Ove, Ford, Phebe, Johnny, Lindy, and Mabel.
