Washington, Utah –
On Sept. 11, 2017 our loving and devoted mother, Ferril Prisbrey Dotson, passed away in St. George, Utah at 93 years old. She was born on May 4, 1924. She was blessed with a twin brother, Merril Prisbrey. Her parents, Susan & Hyrum Prisbrey raised 12 children; 6 single births ending with 3 sets of twins. They were the second set.
While visiting a sister in Calif. She met her loving husband Everett K. Dotson. They married Dec. 3, 1942 settled there and raised 5 children until 1988. They then moved to Wash. to help and be with family.
Ferril was selfless and kind and devoted to her family. She had the ability to make everyone feel special and loved. She always kept a beautiful vegetable garden. She loved volunteering at the Washington City Museum and Covington Mansion giving tours and making quilts. She was an active member of the Church. She served as Relief Society president and Sunday School teacher, but her favorite calling was Primary for 18 years. She and Everett also served as senior missionaries completing a service mission the Bishop's Storehouse in Colton, California and temple workers for many years.
Ferril is survived by her children: Keith (Nola) Dotson, Cheryl Lay, Pauline (Tim) Hannon, William Dotson, and Timothy (Carrie) Dotson; 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Washington LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 486 East Mangum Road, Washington, Utah. A visitation will be held prior to services from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
