Hurricane, Utah - Flora Munford Christensen Workman, 88, passed away May 23, 2022. She was born September 17, 1933, in Cedar City, Utah to Robert Cox and Jane Aliie Sylvester Munford. Flora attended school in Cedar City and graduated from Cedar High School. She worked for Homer Jones Photo Studio as a tinting artist turning black and white photos to color.
Flora fulfilled a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to France and Belgium. She always loved to bear her testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She had many callings in the Church including leading the music, singing, and especially loved serving in the Relief Society. Flora enjoyed hiking with the boys in her Ward.
Flora married Marvin J. Christensen on June 17, 1961, in the St. George Temple. They have five children: Teresa, Pamela, Patty, Christopher, and Hans. Marv passed away in 1986.
In 1989, Flora met and married William "Bill" Workman. They lived in California for a while, then moved to Hurricane, Utah. They adopted their daughter, Ashley together. William and his deceased wife, JoAnn, had six children: Val, Martha, Abby, Anna, Jake, and Amy, all of whom became Flora's children too. Bill passed away in 2001.
Flora loved Hurricane, the people there, and her Ward. She loved going to the Temple. She prepared the program for her ward's Sacrament Meeting for many years. She sent letters to a group of sisters every month until her health declined, and she entered a care center. Flora has many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loves them all.
To know Flora was to be loved by Flora. She was a friend to all. An avid artist and poet, she created beautiful images both in words and pictures. She loved nature and animals. Flora was a very special lady and lived a full and wonderful life.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane 9 th Ward Chapel, 274 South 100 West, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held Wednesday, prior to the services, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be held Wednesday at 2:00p.m. at the Kanarraville Cemetery, Kanarraville, Utah.
