Florence Elizabeth Hinds Sullivan, 90, passed away January 9, 2014 peacefully with family at her side. Flo was born July 3, 1923 to Thomas Mahoney Hinds and Eva Mary Hardeman Hinds in Denison Texas. She was valedictorian of her high school class at St. Xavier Acadamy. She received a college scholarship for music, earning an associate degree in education. She met the love of her life, Harry E. Sullivan while he was training to be a pilot at Perin Field, in Texas. They were married December 15, 1943 and were the proud parents of Harry Edwin Sullivan Jr. Flo was a homemaker, she sang barber shop quartet, and loved playing bridge, earning a Goren Master status in bridge. She and Harry Sr. made their home in Cincinnati, Ohio for 10 years. When his employment changed they were relocated to Whittier California. Harry Sr. passed away in 1979. Flo continued to live in Whittier, in the same house until she relocated in 2005 to be closer to her son in St. George, Utah. She made her home at Sterling Court for the last six years after recovering form a spinal injury. She is survived by her son Harry E. Sullivan Jr. and his wife Kathy and her grandchildren; Melanie Gerard and Shawn Flanagan and her 14 great-grandchildren; Jamie, Makenzie, Andrea, Malorie, Jordan, Antoinette, Madisen Jacob, Kayla, Lilia, Christina, Merrigan, Joseph, and James and 7 great-great grandchildren; Beck, Lincoln, Cashe, Grant, Michael, Benjamin and Olivia. She is also survived by her two nephews, Harry and Michael Marco and a niece Vickie Aldana. She had a kind and friendly disposition and a wonderful sense of humor, she loved meeting newcomers and took pride in knowing their names. Flo was a shopper and loved to collect. She was an avid bridge player and truly loved her grandchildren. The family wished to thank Dr. G. Pendleton, and Sterling Court staff for providing her a home away form home, and for their kind and loving care. A special thanks to Zions Way Hospice. A mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. George Catholic Church, St. George, Utah.
