Frances Elizabeth
Wilson
October 5, 1922 – June 25, 2018
St. George, Utah - Frances Knox Wilson, 95, of St. George passed away in the early morning hours of June 25, 2018 at the Bee Hive Assisted Living Home where she had been very well cared for. She was born on October 5, 1922 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Francis Foss Wheeler and Georgene Amelia Pearsall. She had an older brother and a younger sister.
She graduated from University in the Midwest and subsequently earned her teaching certificate and a Master's Degree. She married Richard John Knox in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1945, and moved to Southern California where they raised their four children. She joined the LDS Church in 1957 along with her family and later had a high school teaching career before retiring and moving to St. George.
Her husband, Richard, passed away in 1998, and she married Bernard Charles Wilson in 1999, who passed in 2008. Frances enjoyed reading historical fiction and was interested in politics. Her consuming passion, however, was Family History Work, wherein she submitted thousands of family names for Temple Work. In later years, she was joined in St. George by her daughter, two granddaughters and their families.
Frances is survived by three of her children: Gregory (Peggy) Knox of St. George, David (Sandra) Knox of Flagstaff, Arizona, Richard Knox of Salt Lake; Charles Harrison (husband of her deceased daughter) of St. George; stepdaughter, Nancy Cisneros of Yucaipa, California; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her daughter, her sister and brother, and husband of a granddaughter.
