St. George, Utah - Francis J. Black returned to heaven Thursday, February 9, 2012. He was born July 30, 1929 in Kirtland, NM to William Morley Black and Elda Jane Brown. On August 2, 1955, he married LaRaine Schetselaar in the Logan LDS Temple. They have lived in Salt Lake City, UT, San Diego, CA, St. George, UT, Overton, NV and then back to St. George.

Francis worked most his life in the auto parts business and for the LDS Church. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission to Central Atlantic States Mission and held many other callings over the years. He also served his country as a Marine from 1952 to 1954.

He is survived by his wife, LaRaine; six children: Vicki, Daniel, John, Jannette, Richard and Bill; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a grandson and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Valley LDS 3 ^rd Ward Chapel, 2079 East 2450 South, St. George, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
