Santa Clara, Utah - Gail (Piepgrass) Nelson passed away November 13, 2011. She was born February 6, 1935 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada to Henry Piepgrass and Theora Pack Piepgrass. She was the youngest of five children. She married Keith Lindon Nelson, 58 years ago, on May 26, 1954 in Raymond, Alberta. They were later sealed in the Cardston LDS Temple December 11, 1954.

Gails great desire was to love her family and to receive an education. She graduated from BYU Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelors in social work and went on to receive a Masters Degree at Cal State. She worked for Child Protective Services as an agent in California for 12 years. She fought valiantly to protect the children assigned to her. The last two years of her career, she was blessed to be assigned to the adoption department where she was able to place those children in homes where they would be loved.

She served as a temple worker in the Oakland LDS Temple for ten years and in the St. George LDS Temple for two years along with her husband. Gail was an avid reader, studying many topics and continued to read to the end of her life. She is loved and missed greatly by all.

Gail is survived by her husband, Keith Nelson; her four favorite daughters: Karen (Daniel) Bangart, Kathy Potts, Koreen "Kory"(Kirk) Lorimer and Kelly (Scott) Bindrup; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Darrel Piepgrass; and her sister, Phyllis Grayson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Clara LDS 8 ^th Ward Chapel, 3680 Pioneer Parkway, Santa Clara, Utah. A visitation will be held Saturday, prior to services, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Chapel. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara City Cemetery.
