Garland James
Taylor
February 23, 1943 – June 28, 2018
Garland was born on February 23, 1943, in Hurricane, Utah to Ina and Clarence Taylor. He was the first of 5 children. Garland lived most of his life in the St George area and worked for St George City Recreation Department as a grounds keeper at their Red Hills Golf Course. He took great pride in his work. In 2009 he moved to Nephi, Utah to be closer to family.
Garland was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. His favorite calling was that of greeter and handing out programs to ward members. He loved visiting with people and had a kind word for everyone.
Garland is survived by his brothers: Bruce Taylor Hall (Darla) of Nephi and Richard Taylor (Karlene) of Layton; his sister, Evelyn Durfee (Charles) of South Salt Lake; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Glennis Williams and Viola Taylor
