Obituary

"Breaker 1-9" Garry Lamar Brown (Mr. Magoo) was born to Guy A. and Mary Jane Brown, July 6, 1935, and passed away September 22, 2021 from Covid-19.  Garry married his sweetheart of 61 years, June Thomas, in the Manti temple in April of 1955.

Garry was a long-haul trucker for Garrett Freightliners and after 37 years, retired and moved to Winter Haven RV Park in St. George, Utah.  There he served as the park president, board member, and spent his days tirelessly serving his neighbors.  He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a counselor in the 10th Branch.  He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly camping, boating (water skiing into his 70's), and riding through the red rocks in his side-by-side with friends.  We have never-ending memories of family fun and good times.  He was a "hands-on" Grandpa who loved his grandchildren.  He was not afraid to get down on their level and make each one of them feel like they were his favorite.

Garry was preceded in death by his wife, June; parents; and two sisters.  He is survived by his wife, Jane Wilstead; brother, LaDell; sister, Marilyn; children: Cathy (Craig) Armstrong, Mary (John) Janssen, Lynette (Don) Rasmussen, and Guy (Angela) Brown; as well as 17 grandchildren, 34 & 1/2 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren who were the light of his life.

The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to his "adopted" son and daughter, Neal and Shirlayne George for all of their love and care.

"This is Mr. Magoo signing off for the last time, 10-4 good buddy."
