Provo, Utah - Gary LeRoy Gregerson, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away March 22, 2011 in Provo, Utah after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born May 26, 1936 in Indio, California to Worthen Earl Gregerson and Werdna Musgrave Gregerson. He moved to Pintura, Utah at age seven and attended schools in the area graduating from High School in St. George. He married Sharon Porter in St. George on April 18, 1955 and their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. They have been married for over 55 years. Together they had four children. Gary served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and spent two years in Japan. After completion of his military service, he attended and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in business. He then moved his family to Southern California where he was employed by Equitable as a real estate appraiser. While employed full time and with his family of four children, he attended Pepperdine Law School and graduated with his Juris Doctorate. Gary then joined a law firm in Oroville, California where he practiced for six years before moving to Provo, Utah. He then served as Provo City Attorney for 18 years. He served in various callings in the LDS church including Bishop on BYU campus and most recently as the Edgemont Stake Executive Secretary to President John Bunting for five years. He is survived by his wife, Sherry of Provo; his four children: Dane (Jeanette) Gregersen of Centennial, CO; Sherise (James) Clayton of Provo, UT; Stacy Gregerson of Orem, UT; Scott (Stacy) Gregerson of Irvine, CA; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gail Glazier and brother, Ross Gregerson both of St. George, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents.
