Obituary

St. George, UT - Georgia Beatrice Searles, 86, passed away October 3, 2010 in St. George, Utah. She was born January 16, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa to Everett Leroy Balzer, Sr. and Louise Iona Sidener. Georgias family moved to Hollywood, California when she was nine months old. Her father and his brothers started the Stop and Shop Grocery Stores in Hollywood, Los Angeles and Studio City areas and Georgia grew up in their grocery businesses. Georgia was the devoted wife of Roi William Searles who passed away in 2006 in St. George, Utah. They were married just four days short of 65 years. They lived all over the Western United States while Roi worked in construction. In 1955, they moved to Goleta, California building a mobile home park there. They lived in Goleta until Roi retired and they started traveling in 1965. They traveled extensively in the Western United States and Mexico. They moved to St. George, Utah in 1995. Georgia is survived by her daughters: Diane (Larry) Fulcher of Aguila, Arizona and Cathy (Hal) Farneman of St. George, Utah; five grandchildren: Bernard (Debbie) Fulcher of Marietta, Georgia; Lynn (Ed) Fulcher Preston of Montecito, California; Clayton (Mary) Fulcher of Santa Barbara, California; Patrick (Kamber) Farneman of Valley, Washington; and Benjamin (Angie) Farneman of St. George, Utah; and eleven great-grandchildren: Sarah Jane Conner; Gary Preston; Justin and Jessica Fulcher; Raven, Mullein and Mandolin Farneman; and Joshua, Jacob, Anna and Maria Farneman. Per Georgias request, cremation will be in St. George, Utah and there will be no services. Anyone wishing to pay respects may donate to the Alzheimers Association.
