Gerald "Jerry" L. Tidwell passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family in LaVerkin, Utah on March 2, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1941 in Homedale, Idaho, to John L. Tidwell and Ida Geraldine Carson Tidwell. Jerry celebrated his 84th birthday last September and had a grand celebration put on by his children and many cousins in Las Vegas, NV.
Jerry loved growing up in Homedale, Idaho. He had many beloved classmates whom he enjoyed keeping in contact with until just a few months ago.
Jerry loved hunting ducks with his brother. He especially loved teasing his older sisters who would laugh to tears. They were a close family and always stayed in touch throughout their lives.
Jerry had two brothers, John L. Tidwell (who passed away at the age of 5 from illness) and Dr. William D. (Ann) Tidwell of Provo, Utah. His sisters were Clara Jean (Cal) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ardith Ann (Mike) Parsons of Emmett, Idaho, Sharon L. (Jess) Seibert of Ephrata, Washington, and Martha Lou (Bob) Roberts of Star Valley, Wyoming.
Jerry graduated from Homedale High School in 1959. He served a Mission in Uruguay for two and a half years and graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education.
Jerry married Juana Yolanda Reveiro and they were blessed with five very beautiful children: Julie Katherine (Brad) Reese of Highland, Utah, John Gerald Tidwell of Henderson, Nevada, Jefferson William Tidwell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jenniffer Geraldine Tidwell of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jeannine Matilda (Tim) of Sandpoint, Idaho.
Then in 1982, Jerry married Lorinda DeMille Yasuda and her two sons, Junichi James Yasuda and Junichi Leo Yasuda from LaVerkin, Utah.
Jerry had a sense of humor and wit that was unmatched.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the LaVerkin Stake Center, 481 North Main Street, LaVerkin, Utah.
