IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gerry Lynn
Dove Chase
October 11, 1949 – January 12, 2024
St George Utah - Gerry Lynn Dove Chase passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 12, 2024, from kidney failure. She was born on October 11, 1949, to Bernard C. Dove and LaRue Lambson Dove in Washington D.C. and was a delight to all. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to California. Gerry spent most of her growing up years in Saratoga, where she thrived. Gerry's sunshine personality was evident to all and proven when she was the winner of the "Smile of the Year" contest in 7th grade.
Whether beach days, camping trips, summers at Lake Arrowhead or cross -country road trips, Gerry has fond memories of family vacations. In high school she was on the girls' basketball team, enjoyed choir and many fun dates to the dances.
Gerry Lynn attended Brigham Young University and received an Associate Degree in Secretarial Technology. There she met her future husband and was married in the Oakland Temple.
Marriage took her to the San Deigo area where she raised her family of four active boys and a darling girl. Running to basketball games, desert 4 wheeling, dance recitals, serving as Treasurer in the PTA, or a day at Sea World, Gerry was an active mom. She was an excellent seamstress and her talents spanned making purses from a pair of jeans to finely crafted holiday décor.
Gerry was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her organizational skills were often sought after as she held many leadership positions. She found her favorite calling was primary chorister where she developed a great love of primary songs.
She received her insurance license and worked as office manager at La Jolla Pacific for many years. Retirement brought Gerry Lynn to St. George where she became a Family History expert spending hours finding, researching, submitting 2,743 family names and doing temple work.
These last few years Gerry has always brought holiday magic to her many days at dialysis. She always had a friendly word and smile for all. Gerry has touched the lives of many with her thoughtful, kind, caring ways. Her sunshine personality has truly been a light to others.
Gerry's greatest joy is her family. Her five children have blessed her with 18 grandchildren. She has happy memories of visits, notes, and calls, by all. She is survived by her mother, LaRue Lambson Dove; sisters: Susan Stout (Terry), Lucinda King; brother, B. Cortie Dove (Cathy); and children: Daniel Chase, Brandon Chase (Michelle), Derek Chase (Kristin), Rebecca Fluhman (Ben), and Gregory Chase (Pamela).
