Gladi Ketti Veiga was born on October 7, 1922 in Mar Del Plata, Argentina to Salvador Vetere and Teresa Catalano. She married Nemesio Jose Felipe Veiga on July 4, 1944. She is survived by her daughter Mirta Beatriz Veiga Richards and her brother Oscar Miguel Vetere. Gladi was preceded in death by her brother Osvaldo Francisco and sisters, Electra Elma, and Ana Teresa. Upon the death of her husband Jose, she came to California to live with her daughter, son in law, John Murray Richards and three granddaughters, Carina (Richards) Hanna, April (Richards) Anderson, and Marcia (Richards) Cummings. Gladi was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 26, 1961 and immediately became involved in the Relief Society Program. She served as Relief Society President for 14 years in Mar Del Plata, Argentina. As such, she organized and prepared meals for labor missionaries involved in the construction of the new chapel in Mar Del Plata in addition to her church and family responsibilities. She was sealed to her husband and daughter on July 16, 1966 in the Los Angeles California Temple. After the death of her husband, she became involved in the humanitarian and genealogical extraction programs for the church. She was honored in Stake Conference in 2004 for her 25 years of service having prepared 125,000 names for the temple. Gladi was also a faithful visiting teacher. In 2005, she suffered a stroke which left her partially disabled and she lost her ability to speak, yet her ability to express her love for family and devotion to the church was undiminished. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
