Washington / Hurricane, Utah - Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Glenna Stratton Johnson died in Washington City, Utah on January 31 2011, three weeks short of her 92nd birthday. She was born February 24, 1919 in Hurricane, Utah to Arthur and Pearl Stratton, the second of five children. Glenna spent her early life in Hurricane, attending school there. She married John Albert Stock on August 2, 1937 in St. George. They lived in St. George, where two of their three children were born. They later divorced. She married Deb M. Johnson on August 26, 1961. They lived in Northern Utah, Arizona, and Hurricane, Utah, as they followed his construction trade. They retired in Hurricane and after Deb's death in December 1996, she continued to live in Hurricane. Glenna was an active, life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her children and was a wonderful cook. She especially enjoyed sewing, embroidery, playing the piano, and singing. She loved flowers and always found a spot for a flower and vegetable garden. The last two years of her life were spent in the Beehive Home in Washington City. There she received kind and loving care for which we are very grateful. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Royce; her husband, Deb; her first husband, Albert; her brother, Darwin; and her son-in-law, Michael Hafen. She is survived by her children: Dr. A. Dean Stock (Patricia) of Kanab, Utah; Bonnie Hafen of St. George; her siblings: Muriel Church, Alden, and Byron; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Hurricane Valley Mortuary Chapel, 140 North Main Street, Hurricane, Utah. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mortuary, prior to services. Interment will be at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
