IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gregory Duane
Sorensen
August 6, 1951 – July 21, 2022
Gregory Duane Sorensen, 70, of Salina, Utah passed away suddenly July 21, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with an unexpected illness. He was born August 6, 1951, to Duane and June Sorensen in Murray, Utah. He attended Granite High School. He met his soulmate Natalie Christensen on February 2, 1995, and they got married on February 2, 2001. They spent every moment by each other's side and built a successful business together. They enjoyed 27 years of companionship doing activities like fishing, camping, many road trips, and sitting side by side listening to old country music enjoying each other's company. Greg was an animal lover and had many animals over his lifetime. He would take animals in and give them loads of love and affection. Pets to mention who have passed on before Greg are: Dog, Buck, Ginger and Louie. He surprisingly grew a love for cats and loved Shadow, Frisky and Baby until his departure from this earth.
Greg is survived by his wife, Natalie Sorensen; two daughters: Cindy (Brent) Hollingsworth and Misty (Mike) Sweeting; seven granddaughters: Taylor, Ali, Kalee, Jessika, Devri, Kaylee, and Charly; three sisters: Betty (Chet) Andersen of Fairview, Judy Wright Roper of Mt. Pleasant, and Pinky (Bud) Schear of Mt. Pleasant; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Greg had four children from previous marriages: Greg "Bucky" Sorensen, Becky Clark, Brian Sorensen, Misty Cuvelier, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Greg is preceded in death by his father, mother, grandparents, three sisters: Murley, Jerry, and Debbie; a granddaughter, Kathryn Anne, a great granddaughter, Willow; a nephew, Trevor; and his best friend, Dallas.
He had many friends and was loved by all.
The family wants to thank the staff of St George Intermountain Healthcare in the ICU Department. His last two weeks of life were spent in their compassionate care, and the family appreciates the way they made us feel supported and informed during that time.
Greg will be cremated with no burial. An open house, celebration of his life will be held August 6, 2022 (his 71st birthday) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Fairview at his sister Betty Anderson's house. Those who wish to attend can reach out to a family member for details.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems to be the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
