Ivins, Utah - H. Gene Felt, 87, passed away peacefully to be with his wife on December 27, 2024.

Gene was born November 27, 1937, to Walter Irvin and Julia Mathilda Frei Felt. Growing up in Idaho Falls, ID with his twin brother John, sister Dorothy, and brother Rowland. He graduated from Idaho Falls High then attended BYU where he earned his bachelor's degree. He served in the Army Reserves before working for Conoco Oil Company. Then he started his career with the IRS, where he worked until he retired.

He married Carol Peterson on December 23, 1961, in Rexburg, ID. They were later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They had a long and happy marriage raising two children until thoroughly enjoying their retirement, when they took cruises with friends and family, spending time between their homes in Star Valley, Wyoming and Goodyear, Arizona and later Ivins, Utah where he and Carol moved permanently in 2014. He and Carol enjoyed gathering with friends, playing bridge, pinocle, most any card game.

He enjoyed hunting but his true passion was playing golf, and his proudest moment was achieving the ultimate "hole in one". He was a Wyoming Cowboys fan and enjoyed going to many of their games.

He made many friends throughout his life, despite being the big bad IRS collection agent. Everyone he met became a friend, including many he worked with and collected from during his IRS career.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Felt of Tooele UT; grandchildren: Rebecca Gonzales of Tooele, UT, Ashley Boese of Tooele, UT, Talon Faler of Pinedale, WY, and Chance Ishmael of Tooele UT; great grandchildren: Lucas, Weston, Layla, Taben, Abby, Luke, Sawyer, and Zoey; and sister, Dorothy of Kalaheo, Hawaii.

He's preceded in death by his wife, Carol Felt; son, Bart Felt; brothers: John and Rowland Felt; his parents; and many dear friends and family.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ivins City Cemetery, 200 West 400 North, Ivins, Utah.
