St. George, Utah - Harold Harrison Brandt, 90, passed away February 9, 2014 in his sleep. He was born December 17, 1923 in Stockton, Kansas to Christian Louis and Olah Velma Brandt. Harold served his country in WWII with the U.S. Army. He worked his way up to the Union Pacific Railroad from telegraph operator through dispatcher, trainmaster and superintendent until he retired as general manager after 42 years with the company. Harold loved to play golf at many different courses as he traveled across the country.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie LaRaine; sons: Rick Brandt. Lee Brandt and Scott Brandt; daughter, Sharon Douglass; and step-sons: Mark Patterson and Rex Patterson; and step-daughter, Sherrie Patterson. Harold has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Velma Brandt; sons: Michael Brandt and Ronnie Brandt; and step-daughter Sharon Kay.

Services will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements are entrusted to Metcalf Mortuary, (435) 673-4221.
