St. George, Utah - Helen Sherbondy passed away March 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 80 years old.

Helen was born in Sharpsville, PA in 1934. She graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1952. She married Jim Sherbondy in 1953. They had two children. In 1959, Helen and Jim packed up their kids, their dog, and all their worldly belongings and headed west. They settled in Las Vegas, NV where they resided for 35 years. During this time, Helen worked as an office manager for the Clark County School District.

In 1999, she moved to St. George, UT where she worked in real estate and enjoyed 15 wonderful years of traveling, gardening, cooking, reading, sipping good wine, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynne; son, Terry; grandsons, Alex and Andrew; nieces, Caroline and Nancy; and sister, Barbara.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT. A celebration of Helen's life is planned for later this year in Parowan, UT. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you make a contribution to the American Cancer Society.
