Obituary

St. George, Utah - Helen Kathryn "Sue" Morris Forsyth completed her mortal sojourn at Kolob Rehabilitation and Care Center the morning of October 15th, 2011. She was born in South Gate, California, May 10th, 1931. Her parents were Arnold George Morris, and Lorette Mangum. Sue was raised in Safford, Arizona, which is in Graham County at the foot of Mount Graham. She graduated from Safford High School, and attended a year at Eastern Arizona Junior College, graduating from Institute. She moved with her parents to Phoenix in 1950, when her father was called by the LDS Church to manage the cotton and hay farm.

In April 1951, she met Stanley [Stan] S. Forsyth at a fireside at the farm, which resulted in their marriage on September 6th, 1951, in the Arizona temple. Together they raised five children and one granddaughter: Vicki, Kerrie [Ken Graff], DeAnna [John Saycich], Brent [Jeff Buckley], Susan [Allen Peters], and granddaughter Audrey [Curtis Bledsoe]. They have thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, with number eight due momentarily. They were the joy of Sue's life.

Sue was very happy working in the Primary and Junior Sunday School, for about thirty years. She greatly enjoyed working with the Dixie College girls as Relief Society President in the Dixie College Stake. During Sue's life, she developed many of her talents including her beautiful singing voice, a love for cooking, being a great conversationalist, a proficient seamstress, and her great appreciation for the simple beauties in life. While raising their family, Stan and Sue lived in Phoenix, Coolidge, Douglas, and Sierra Vista Arizona, and Cedar City and St. George Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Tonaquint Cemetery.
